[16:08] < MS-> *yawn*
[16:13] < Lawouach> evening
[16:14] *** Lawouach passes a mug of tea to MS-
[16:14] < MS-> cheers
[16:14] < MS-> how's things ?
[16:15] < Lawouach> tired but good
[16:15] < Lawouach> my last day at my current contract tomorrow
[16:15] < Lawouach> back on the bench
[16:16] < Lawouach> except, since my company has no contract for me yet, they force me to get some time off next week
[16:16] < Lawouach> which is not convenient
[16:19] < MS-> I see
[16:22] < Lawouach> but I'll take the chance to rest, code and do bits and pieces I have pushed back for a while
[16:23] *** MS- nods
[16:24] < MS-> I'd probably do the same
[16:28] < Lawouach> what about you?
[16:28] < Lawouach> how are things?

[18:10] < vmlemon_> Hi
[18:39] < MS-> I went afk (made dinner, that sort of thing) I'm rather knackered really, but catching up with making tests pass etc
[18:48] < vmlemon_> Heh
[18:48] < vmlemon_> BBC iPlayer for Linux is actually out of "Offline" mode after I try it for the first time in over a year
[19:03] < MS-> I'm surprised that no-ones knocked up a player that just grabs the H264 (iPod/iPhone) streams personally
[19:04] < vmlemon_> Good point
[19:04] < MS-> Mind you, I've not bothered either ;) :)
[19:04] *** vmlemon_ wonders why X11 apps will suddenly stop accepting mouse clicks after a few hours
[19:05] < MS-> ?
[19:05] < vmlemon_> It appears that I can't actually click anything, or use the trackpad's scroll pad, for some unfathomable reason
[19:05] < MS-> very strange
[19:06] < vmlemon_> It usually seems to happen after Firefox or Wireshark has been running for a while, for reasons unknown
[19:06] < vmlemon_> (and neither are running now)
[19:07] < MS-> I've seen that sort of thing occasionally, but it was usually relating to buggy drivers (I think)
[19:08] < vmlemon_> Interesting
[19:08] < vmlemon_> It seems that it happens intermittently every so often, and will sometimes mysteriously stop if I hit Ctrl+F4 in all the apps with windows in the foreground
[19:09] < vmlemon_> Although that brings it's own problems, namely that it's a massive time-waster and productivity killer
[19:09] < MS-> very odd

[19:12] < vmlemon_> That was weird
[19:12] < vmlemon_> It started working after I closed the Pidgin window
[19:12] < vmlemon_> Very peculiar
[19:13] < vmlemon_> Wonders never cease

[20:02] < vmlemon_> Cool, the Symbian Foundation just launched a blog
[20:04] < Lawouach> freaking fail from addon mozilla
[20:04] < Lawouach> https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/9602
[20:04] < Lawouach> asking users to login to get an experimental plugin is really lame
[20:05] < Lawouach> they could have added ways to warn people about the nature of the plugin without having to coerce them into signing up
[20:05] < Lawouach> really really lame
[20:06] < vmlemon_> Ugh
[20:06] < vmlemon_> Didn't they plan that, a while ago?
[20:07] < vmlemon_> Pretty bad form from them, given that they're supposedly all about openness
[20:07] < vmlemon_> or at least ease of access
[20:08] < Lawouach> yeah
[20:08] < Lawouach> and I *don't* want to signup just for that
[20:08] < vmlemon_> http://sqrl.it/?72al7
[20:10] < Lawouach> gosh that's an ugly layout
[20:11] < Davbo> Hey chaps
[20:11] < vmlemon_> Hi Davbo
[20:11] < vmlemon_> Hmm, unless it's just the Iterasi banner
[20:11] < vmlemon_> Looks a bit childish to me, although I'm curious to see how/if they'll lay it out
[20:13] *** vmlemon_ liked the old Symbian branding (as on the main Symbian website), but can't see the new Foundation keeping it for some reason :(
[20:14] < vmlemon_> Still, it's only a glimpse, as they say themselves
[20:14] < vmlemon_> Nice to know that they're still working on open-sourcing it too
[20:14] < vmlemon_> Just as I thought that they died
[20:14] < vmlemon_> ;)
[20:16] *** Davbo managed to get a hotel booked in central london for £39
[20:16] *** Davbo is proud ;)
[20:17] < vmlemon_> Not bad
[20:17] *** vmlemon_ wonders why that £ symbol rendered as a question mark here
[20:28] < Davbo> probably this awful IRC client i use on windows
