[13:15] < Lawouach> why would you call your Python module like that? http://pypi.python.org/pypi/asciiporn

[13:52] < vmlemon_> Hi
[17:59] *** MS- has joined #kamaelia
[17:59] < MS-> evening
[18:03] < vmlemon_> Hi
[18:16] < vmlemon_> Eek, has anyone heard about the Twitter phishing scam that's making the rounds?
[18:16] *** Patrick` has joined #kamaelia
[18:17] < vmlemon_> Hi Patrick`
[18:17] < Lawouach> vmlemon_: nope, more info?
[18:21] < vmlemon_> http://news.cnet.com/8301-1009_3-10130566-83.html details it
[18:22] < vmlemon_> It involved users of a specific service providing their Twitter credentials to a phony login page, and finding that a load of Direct Messages had been sent containing a URL for a tainted BlogSpot blog
[18:23] < vmlemon_> Not quite sure how to explain it, although I received one of the said Direct Messages and never acted upon it
[18:23] < vmlemon_> The content of the messages is along the lines of "hey look at this funny blog http://rosalierebyb.blogspot.com/"
[18:23] *** MS- changed the topic to http://www.kamaelia.org/Home | Don't forget you can ask questions on the mailing list as well | Don't ask to ask, just ask | channel logs are here: http://www.kamaelia.org/logs/ (start a line with [off] to not be logged)
[18:24] < MS-> (removed comment about 0.6 / 0.7 )
[18:24] < vmlemon_> Looks like the URL was blocked by several phishing filters, and the bad blog itself was removed
[18:24] < Lawouach> vmlemon_ okay
[18:24] < vmlemon_> Having checked with curl
[18:47] < MS-> vmlemon_: So it boils down to PT Barnum again basically?
[18:50] < vmlemon_> Hmm, what do you mean, out of interest?
[18:51] < vmlemon_> Heh
[18:51] < vmlemon_> You could say that
[19:02] < MS-> You found the obvious quote I guess ?
[19:02] < MS-> :)
[19:02] < vmlemon_> Yeah
[19:02] < MS-> (Phishing works because of the PT Barnum principle really, no amount of tech can really help there)
[19:02] < vmlemon_> I wondered who thought of it, actually
[19:03] < vmlemon_> Same with pretty much everything in tech
[19:03] < vmlemon_> They just invent a better idiot
[19:04] < vmlemon_> The Titanic comes to mind, for some reason
[19:05] < vmlemon_> (They said it was unsinkable, yet they still managed to sink it)
[19:20] *** vmlemon_ has joined #kamaelia
[19:45] < vmlemon_> Heh, classy
[19:45] < vmlemon_> I just got another DM from someone with a compromised account, after they sent me an initial one, and I Twittered about that account being compromised
[19:45] < vmlemon_> (This time with a different URL)
